Malibu C Professional Treatments at Bloom Groom
Not every colour or buildup concern needs the same treatment. Bloom Groom offers five Malibu C professional treatments, each designed for a different salon need: removing artificial colour, adjusting a recent colour result, clearing mineral buildup, or caring for a dry scalp.
Here’s what each one is for. Your stylist can assess your hair and recommend the right approach.
CPR Color Pigment Remover

CPR is used to reduce unwanted artificial pigment from oxidative and non-oxidative dyes. Malibu C says it can remove up to three levels of artificial pigment without lifting the hair’s natural colour. It may be considered when existing artificial colour needs to be reduced before a new colour service.
CPR is a professional treatment. The result depends on the hair’s colour history and condition, so your stylist will assess your hair before deciding whether it is suitable. Malibu C CPR details
DDL Direct Dye Lifter
DDL XL is designed for unwanted direct dyes and vivid shades that remain in the hair. Unlike CPR, DDL XL is an oxidative product and can also lift natural pigment. Malibu C’s instructions call for a strand test and say it must not be applied to the scalp or skin.
Because it behaves differently from CPR, DDL is selected for specific colour-removal situations after a stylist assesses the hair. Malibu C DDL XL details
Crystal Gel
Crystal Gel is a professional chelating treatment for mineral, environmental and product buildup. It can be used to prepare the hair before a chemical service, where buildup may affect colour results. It is not the same as a treatment designed to remove artificial dye.
Your stylist can recommend it if buildup or discolouration is affecting the hair’s clarity or getting in the way of a planned service. Malibu C Crystal Gel details
Scalp Therapy Wellness Remedy
Scalp Therapy Wellness Remedy is a scalp-focused treatment that helps remove buildup from minerals, oils and product residue while hydrating a dry scalp. Malibu C describes it as a weekly remedy; in the salon, your stylist can advise whether it suits your scalp and how it fits into your care routine.
It has a different purpose from Crystal Gel, which is focused on preparing the hair for services and addressing buildup along the hair. Malibu C Scalp Therapy details
Quick Fix Wellness Remedy
Quick Fix is intended for an unwanted colour result that needs a prompt adjustment at the shampoo bowl. Malibu C describes it as a professional chelating service that can help shift a recent colour result, remove mineral buildup and prepare hair for colour reapplication. The brand’s guidance refers to using it within 48 hours of the original colour service.
It is not a substitute for CPR or DDL when a more involved artificial-pigment removal is needed. Your stylist will consider when the colour was applied and what kind of correction is appropriate. Malibu C Quick Fix details
Which treatment is right for you?
These treatments address different concerns: CPR and DDL are colour-removal options with different effects; Quick Fix is for prompt adjustment of a recent colour result; Crystal Gel targets buildup before services; and Scalp Therapy Wellness Remedy focuses on scalp buildup and dryness.
